About Me
My name is Dustin Horvath; I founded PCH Consulting, LLC. I went undiagnosed and without support for ADHD until my sophomore year of high school. However, I found the right college and an academic support program, and that experience changed the trajectory of my life. At college, I majored in elementary education/special education. I was engaged in meaningful coursework and learned more about myself in the process.
I have two graduate degrees, one in Literacy and one in School Counseling. I have taught special education and worked in higher education in various roles, notably as director of the same academic program that helped me as a student and as an adjunct professor teaching adolescent psychology.

In high school, I was unsure of the specifics of my future, but I knew I wanted to help people; 20 years later, that passion has only grown. I continue to find ways to give back to others to help enhance their outlook on their future. That's why I started this business: to help others in a way that is similar to my own experience. I push high schoolers to become their own best advocates and help bolster their confidence as they plan their postsecondary journey.

As a person with ADHD, I cannot profess to know another person's experiences. Still, I have good insights into how these experiences may have impacted their development. My focus is on creating and maintaining partnerships with a purpose. When you work with me, you should expect nonjudgmental collaboration with transparency and consistency.

I am also a podcaster! I started ADHD in a HURRY! as both a means of helping others and as a creative outlet for myself. I took all of my favorite skills and interests and turned them into a podcast that aims to help connect with other ADHDers (and non-ADHDers) to destigmatize their experiences. I wanted to start this new adventure because I know I would have benefited greatly if I had access to these stories, insights, and strategies 20+ years ago. Episodes are short (~10 minutes) and longer when I am interviewing others. I have hosted conversations with folks with ADHD telling personal stories and professionals who work with ADHDers. I genuinely love this communication medium and hope you enjoy it, too!

My Story
I am an educator who has worked in every grade level from K-12 and taught various courses at the college level. Helping others genuinely makes me happy and excites me, and I hope to share that enthusiasm with you! I am an example of someone who was unsure about their future, got the support I needed, and learned more about myself along the way. I feel fortunate that I found my support, but I want to ensure that others get that same chance in their postsecondary journey.

In high school, I was finally tested for and got special educational services for ADHD. At the time, I couldn't see how having ADHD impacted me directly, but the more I looked at myself and my experiences, the more it started to make sense. I wasn't "dumb" or "lazy"; my brain works a little differently, and that's okay. Once I started forgiving myself a little more, I realized others faced similar experiences. I knew I wanted to be an important person for them, to help them academically, but also holistically as a person with a disability. I have dedicated my life to this ongoing pursuit and am proud of my accomplishments.

I am now a husband and a father to two wonderful daughters -- they are the namesake of my business. I want to be an excellent example to them by showing them that there are people in this world who help others. I want to instill in them the value of supporting others and getting support when needed. My lifelong goal is to model for them that learning, even when difficult, is a worthwhile experience. I want them to love themselves so they can see the good in others.

I believe everyone has a calling, and I intend to use mine to help as many young people as possible find theirs; your future planning will be enhanced with my help. I am committed to pushing others to be their best selves, fostering a sense of confidence, and giving them the tools needed to face life's challenges after high school. Coming from a place of ADHD does not make me a know-it-all, but I do have some relatable insights to share with and hear from others.
