Service Description

This is a six-week collaborative planning process that starts with helping you identify your short and long-term goals, your strengths, interests, and values. These components will drive your future planning! We will discuss disability rights in academic and/or vocational work settings, and I will help you understand how support works after high school. We will discuss how to market your strengths, interview skills, and put together an action plan including support systems. We will focus on what a support network looks like, how to construct one that focuses on you, your needs, and how to foster skills that reinforce autonomy. Sessions will also focus on interdependence as a young adult: finding areas of independence as a person but also openness to accessing support when needed, and knowing the difference. Throughout each session, we will discuss your needs, supports, and build your self-advocacy skills. One of the core goals here is to find that goodness of fit for you -- what is intuitive to you, your needs, and highlights your strengths. You will be in the driver's seat in the planning, and your ideas and insights will form the basis of our discussions and planning.
